Meet Dasia (Day-jah)

Dasia is a Boston based pre-licensed therapist with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis in African-American and Caribbean mental health and marriage and family therapy. Dasia values fostering autonomy within her clients, often leading the first session with her favorite phrase "this is your space."

Dasia utilizes approaches that are personable and person-centered. Completing her internship in a college based setting, provided her with the skills to build authentic connection with her clients. Learning brief and solution-focused approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, career counseling, etc. allowed Dasia to successfully assist individuals in effectively establishing goals, processing feelings, and working through immediate needs in brief timeframes, yielding transformative results.

Prospective clients often wonder, "how effective is therapy, if I'm changing and the people around me remain the same." Through a systemic approach, Dasia utilizes her training in Marriage and family therapy to assist her individual clients in understanding how behaviors, needs, and feelings "make sense in context."

Dasia utilizes structural, strategic, experiential, behavioral, narrative, person-centered, somatic-based, community-oriented, and culturally competent approaches to assist her clients. Dasia does not believe in a "one size fits all approach", instead she is quick on her feet, and enjoys finding creative and collaborative ways to support her clients. By meeting them where they are. Dasia has experience with trauma-informed care, AuADHD, eating disorders, play therapy, transitional age youth, and systemic approaches.

Through Sincerely Sanguine she hopes to provide individuals with the space and community to heal. Dasia is community-driven with aspirations of utilizing her expertise to provide you with the resources to heal wounds, learn coping strategies, set-boundaries, and successfully navigate complex relationships, and societal pressures. Dasia believes that community is our best asset and finding the therapist for you is the first step! Take the leap and book a consultation today!
